Dr. Adams is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon with over 25 years of experience in private practice. Prior to attending medical school at the University of Southern California, he served in the United States Army as an enlisted man. He was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, and South Korea before being honorably discharged. He has been practicing in Manhattan, Kansas for the past 25 years.
Dr. Adams received his medical school and dermatology residency training in Los Angeles, California and completed an internal medicine internship in San Francisco, California.
During his dermatology residency, Dr. Adams received the top score in the nation (99th percentile) in dermatopathology, which is of paramount importance in the performance of Mohs micrographic surgery. He also achieved one of the top overall scores in the nation (96th percentile) for his overall combined score covering all subjects.
In addition to his training in dermatology, Dr. Adams received additional advanced training in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. Dr. Adams has over 25 years of experience in reconstructive surgery; he has the training and experience to perform virtually any reconstructive procedure that may be necessary.
Dr. Adams has performed well over 15,000 Mohs surgery cases and is one of the most experienced Mohs surgeons in the nation. Dr. Adams is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
His children are now grown, and he and his wife live in Doniphan, Nebraska. When not in the office, Dr. Adams enjoys old stuff such as pre-1980 movies, replays of pre-2000 sporting events, and he has a passion for history. In order to optimize his understanding of history, he reads and studies primarily pre-1970 books; as well as original speeches and film footage from the early 1900s, when the events were actually occurring.
He is ever grateful to God for allowing him the opportunity to serve others in the field of medicine, as he has sincerely found that the greatest joy in life, is in fact, in helping others.
